“Never automate something that can be eliminated, and never delegate something that can be automated.”

Tim Ferriss

Hi there,

Have you ever bought something just because it was trending?

Chances are, yes. We all have. That “miracle” serum. That viral productivity tool. The matcha phase, a book or maybe a place you picked to travel next. I am sure there must be something for sure…

Trends are tempting.

But when it comes to emails, following trends blindly doesn’t always work.Because while everyone’s talking about what’s in… what really matters is, what works – for you and your audience.

That’s exactly what I wanted to talk about in this episode of getting better with ‘email marketing’…

What does it mean to “stay in trend” with your emails?

Let’s rewind for a second.

Back then, email marketing was all about:

  • Loud subject lines.
  • Flashy designs.
  • Big, bold CTAs.

Fast forward to now, things are different.

People want:

  • Quick takeaways.
  • A personal voice.
  • Relevance.

We want:

  • More opens
  • More clicks
  • More replies

(basically, we want the same thing… just from different sides of the screen.)

so what to do?

Three things that are working in 2025

Smart automation (that doesn’t feel robotic): Use behavior-based triggers to reach the right person at the right moment.

Micro-segmentation: Don’t talk to your whole list like they’re one person. Slice your audience into specific groups and speak directly to them.

Human-sounding emails: Drop the corporate tone. Write like a person. Your subscribers will listen like people, too.

Want a quick action plan? Start by auditing your last 3 campaigns.

Ask yourself:

  • Were they too generic?
  • Did they sound like me?
  • Did they offer something useful?

If yes – Do more of that.

If not – You know what to fix.

BTW how do you stay in trend and still be true to your brand?

Book of the Month

So I recently came across this book – ‘Steal Like an Artist’ by Austin KleonIn.

This world is full of trends, how do you stay original?

This book has the answers.

Top 3 takeaways:

  1. Nothing is 100% original and that’s not a bad thing.
  2. Use trends as tools, but shape them to your story.
  3. The best way to stand out is to start creating not waiting.

Liked the concept?

💡 Did you know?

Emails with one clear call-to-action get up to 371% more clicks than emails with multiple CTAs. (Source).

Do you agree?

So yes – sometimes less is more.

🎥 Coming up in Episode 5…

Let’s leave this one a mystery.

Can you guess what it might be?

Hint: It’s something you use every single day.

Also, are you enjoying these series?

What really makes us happy in our work?

Sometimes it’s not the big wins. It’s the:

  • Quick thank-you from a customer.
  • A reply that says, “This helped me.”
  • A newsletter that actually gets a click.
  • Or a quiet product renewal that reminds us, ‘we are doing something right’.

So here’s our question for you: What’s the one moment in your work that gives you genuine joy?

Until next time,
