How to install and set up Icegram Cookie Manager

Install, activate, and launch a compliant cookie consent banner on your WordPress site in minutes with Icegram Cookie Manager.

Icegram Cookie Manager adds a customizable cookie consent banner to your WordPress website. It informs visitors about the cookies your site uses and lets them accept all, reject non-essential cookies, or choose specific categories.

The plugin works out of the box with sensible defaults for cookie messages, button labels, and color styles.

Prerequisites

  • A WordPress website running version 5.6 or higher.
  • Administrator access to install plugins and configure settings.
  • A published Privacy Policy page (recommended for automatic policy linking).

Installation and activation

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New.

  2. In the search box, search for Icegram Cookie Manager.

  3. Locate the plugin by Icegram and click Install Now.

  4. Once the installation completes, click Activate.

  5. After activation, a new Cookie Manager menu appears in your WordPress admin sidebar.

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Cookie Manager > Cookie Manager.

  2. Review the default consent notice under the Content section. By default, the plugin automatically links to your site’s WordPress Privacy Policy page.

  3. Under the Buttons section, verify the action labels: Accept All, Reject All, and Customize.

  4. Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

  5. Open an incognito browser window and visit your website’s homepage. The consent banner appears fixed at the bottom of the screen with all three action buttons.

What visitors experience

When a visitor lands on your site:

  • The banner stays pinned to the screen until they make a choice.
  • Clicking Accept All grants consent across all cookie categories and closes the banner.
  • Clicking Reject All allows only necessary technical cookies and rejects analytics, marketing, and functional scripts.
  • Clicking Customize opens the preferences popup where visitors can toggle individual categories before saving.
  • Once closed, a small floating gear icon remains available in the bottom corner of your pages so visitors can reopen and change their preferences at any time.
