The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulates how personal data of European Union residents is collected, stored, and managed. Under GDPR, you must disclose what personal data your website retains and why.

Because Icegram Express is self-hosted on your WordPress installation, all your subscriber data, campaigns, and delivery logs stay entirely within your own database. Icegram does not host, sync, or retain your subscribers’ personal data on external servers.

Database Tables Created by Icegram Express

When activated, Icegram Express creates the following tables in your WordPress MySQL database (where {prefix} matches your WordPress table prefix, typically wp_):

• {prefix}ig_contacts / {prefix}es_emaillist: Stores subscriber details (email address, first name, last name, custom fields, subscription status, and source).
• {prefix}ig_lists: Stores your subscriber lists and groupings.
• {prefix}ig_campaigns / {prefix}es_notification: Stores campaign configurations (post notifications, newsletters, and sequences).
• {prefix}ig_sending_queue / {prefix}es_sentdetails: Tracks the sending queue and delivery status for each queued email.
• {prefix}ig_actions / {prefix}es_deliverreport: Detailed logging for email opens, clicks, and delivery outcomes.

Additionally, email templates are stored as custom post types within standard WordPress posts and postmeta tables.

What to Include in Your Privacy Policy

Under GDPR, your website privacy policy should explicitly inform visitors:

1. That you collect their name and email address when they submit a subscription form.
2. The specific purpose for which their email will be used (e.g., newsletters, product announcements).
3. That their data is securely stored inside your self-hosted WordPress database and is never sold or shared with unauthorized third parties.
4. How they can unsubscribe or request data erasure at any time (via the unsubscribe link in every email).
